No. On-site consultations and estimates are free, and there is no obligation. For full scaled landscape master plans we charge a design fee, and that fee is credited back against the installation if you build the plan with us.

It depends on the work. Hardscape and drainage are best from late spring through fall when the ground is dry enough to compact properly. Planting is strongest in early fall, September through mid-October, when roots get six to eight weeks in warm soil before dormancy. Lawn seeding is best mid-August through late September. We schedule each part of a project for its correct window rather than doing everything at once.

We amend broad bed areas rather than digging individual planting holes — a hole backfilled with good soil in clay becomes a bathtub that drowns the plant. Beds get compost worked into the top ten to twelve inches, and on heavy ground we build beds up a few inches so roots sit above the saturated zone. For lawns, annual core aeration with compost topdressing does more over two seasons than any product in a bag.

Six to eight inches of compacted crushed limestone over woven geotextile, with total excavation of twelve to fourteen inches below finished grade, compacted in lifts. Frost depth here runs past thirty inches and our clay holds the water that drives heave, so a four-inch base will move. That specification is written into every hardscape proposal we send.

Yes — it is half of our name. We run residential driveway plowing and commercial lot, walk and entry clearing with de-icing all winter across Northwest Ohio. Most of our year-round clients bundle grounds and snow on one agreement, which also means the crew that mows your property in July is the crew that stakes it in November.

Usually, and it is often the better value. Plenty of properties have good bones under thirty years of overgrowth — mature trees worth keeping, shrubs that respond to hard rejuvenation pruning, bed lines that just need correcting. We walk the beds and tell you plainly which plants are worth saving, which can be cut back, and which are past the point where pruning helps. Renovation typically costs a fraction of starting over and looks established the day we finish.

A paver patio with good access runs four to seven working days. A front-yard landscape renovation is usually three to five days. A whole-property installation with drainage and hardscape spans two to five weeks. Drainage work is often one to three days. Your written proposal includes a start window and a working-day estimate, and weather moves those — we do not build a hardscape base on saturated ground or plant into frozen soil.

Workmanship on hardscape and plant establishment are warranted separately, and the specific terms and exclusions are written into your project proposal rather than left vague. Plant warranties generally exclude losses from inadequate watering, animal damage and extreme weather, which is standard across the trade — we would rather you know that going in than discover it afterward.

Yes. We are used to HOA approval processes and can prepare the plant lists, plan drawings and scope documents a board needs to review a submission. For managed properties we work on written annual agreements with defined visit scope, a single point of contact, and time-stamped documentation of winter clearing and de-icing.

Yes. We carry insurance covering our crews and equipment on every job, and we provide certificates of insurance on request — which most commercial agreements require. Ask for it and we will have it sent to you directly from our agency.
