Soil and drainage in Bono
Foundation grade is the cheapest correction available and the one most often missed. The ground within ten feet of a house should fall roughly six inches; on older properties eighty years of settlement has usually reversed it, and no amount of interior work fixes water that is being delivered to the wall from outside.
Turf on this clay is a compaction problem before it is a nutrition problem. Annual core aeration with overseeding into the open holes and a light compost topdressing changes how a lawn handles a dry July within two seasons, which no bag of fertilizer will do.

Pile placement is a design decision made at the fall site walk, not something to improvise in the dark. Snow stacked uphill of a drive melts back across it and refreezes with every thaw, and piles at a sight line become a hazard by February.
