Walls near a river valley face the same enemy everywhere else — trapped water — only more of it. Every wall we build here gets drain tile at the base with a positive outlet, a minimum twelve-inch zone of clean angular stone behind the block, and geotextile keeping soil out of that stone. On taller walls, geogrid ties the block back into compacted fill. If a wall on your property is already leaning forward, the cause is almost certainly soil backfilled directly against the block, and correcting the drainage alone will not pull it back.
